PRIVACY & ADVERTISING.
Updated 2 October 2026.
Your race and leaderboard
Beat My Rio stores your settings and personal bests in your browser. Ranked races use a private device cookie to connect returning racers to their results. Your chosen racer name, verified times, circuit results and positions appear publicly on the leaderboard. Race inputs and replay data are processed on our servers to verify results and provide record ghosts. Avoid putting private information in your racer name.
Live room chat
Text chat is optional and available only to drivers in the same live room or Sandton world. Messages, your racer name and a pseudonymous sender ID are visible to those drivers, so do not share private information. Ordinary chat is held in server memory for up to five minutes, with at most thirty recent messages per room, and is cleared when a race room starts a new match. It is not a private messaging service. Blocked sender IDs stay on your device until you unblock them. Reports retain the reported message, sender name, pseudonymous sender and reporter IDs, room and timestamps for moderation; these records expire after thirty days and are deleted during the daily cleanup. Contact support to request review or removal.
Chat requires no account and is an optional part of live play. Use Block to stop messages from a driver and Report on a message to request review. Do not send harassment, discriminatory or sexual content, threats, spam, links, or another person's private information. Attempts to send severe abuse, links or excessive messages are filtered. We may restrict abusive use and remove inappropriate content. Reports are reviewed through the support process.
Billboard advertising
Paid billboard advertising is enabled by default for eligible visits. We load Borellion’s advertising SDK to display available campaigns on the roadside billboards unless you have turned it off or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. Borellion and its partners, including Google through its programmatic advertising system, may use cookies and similar technologies for advertising, measurement and frequency control. Data may include your IP address, approximate location, browser and device information, page URL, visit duration and ad interactions. Borellion also receives public game metadata and session activity for its discovery network.
Advertising partners may use activity across websites to select personalised ads. See Borellion’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.
You can turn paid ads off below. We respect existing opt-outs and Global Privacy Control by not loading the ad SDK. When paid ads are unavailable or turned off, the billboards show local Beat My Rio promotions without contacting an advertising provider. Advertising is currently disabled for visits from the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and when we cannot determine the visit’s country, pending a certified consent-platform integration.
Change your choice
Changing the preference on this page applies on the next game load; reload any other open game tabs to stop their advertising sessions. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser. Clearing the game’s device cookie creates a new leaderboard identity.
Partner settings: Google My Ad Center, Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative. These controls may affect personalisation without removing all ads from other sites.
Questions and data requests
Beat My Rio is operated by Shudu. Use the contact options on Shudu’s website for questions or requests concerning your game data. Advertising partners handle requests concerning the data they collect through their own privacy contacts. Advertising is not required to race or publish a verified result.
