- Brake / reverseSlow down. Keep holding at a stop for about 0.65 seconds to engage reverse.

- Steer left / rightMake small corrections at speed. Brake before tighter corners.
- SPACE or SHIFT
- Nitrous boostHold while accelerating for up to +80 km/h. Keep accelerating after NOS to retain speed up to the normal limit; only excess speed fades. N₂O replenishes off boost.

- HandbrakeLoosen the rear for a sharper turn. A little goes a long way.
- C
- Change cameraCycle through the driving views.

- Recover to trackPut your Rio back on the road when you get stuck.

- PauseTake a breather or adjust the volume. Press Esc or choose “Back to the chase” to resume.
TOUCH
PHONE / TABLET- GAS + N₂O
- Hold the round gas pedal to accelerate. Its ring shows the NOS charge and glows when full. Double-tap and hold to boost whenever any charge remains.
- BRAKE / R
- Brake. Keep holding at a stop to reverse.
- ↔ DRAG
- Drag the thumb left or right to steer. Drag farther for a tighter turn; release to centre.
- DRIFT
- Hold the handbrake to slide through a corner.
- ↻ RECOVER
- Return your Rio to the track.
- ◉ CAMERA
- Change the driving view.
- Ⅱ PAUSE
- Tap the pause button at the top.

Plug in or pair your controller, then press any button so the browser can detect it. Xbox-style controls work on every circuit and in Sandton. A also starts from the garage. Generic USB joysticks use the X axis to steer, Y forward/back for accelerate/brake, and buttons 1/2 for pedals, 3 for boost, 4 for handbrake, 5 for camera and 6 for recovery. Keyboard and touch controls stay available.
SANDTON ON FOOT
FREE DRIVEStop your car and press E, tap Get out, or press D-pad Up on your controller. Your car stays parked. Walk with W / ↑, S / ↓ and turn with A D / ← →. On a controller use the left stick or RT / LT, and hold A to run. On touch use the same steering, forward and back buttons; double-tap forward to run. Walk back within five metres of your car, then press E, D-pad Up or Get in. R / Y / Recover returns you to the road if you get lost.
Stop in front of a paid billboard, then click or tap the advert to visit its link in a new tab. Solo races pause before the advert opens. In online races, your car brakes safely while the shared race continues. Return to the game and choose “Back to the chase” to continue. Switching tabs uses the same behaviour.
Use the sound button to mute or unmute. The pause menu also has an engine volume slider. On the finish screen, race the next circuit, replay this track, or return to the garage.
