Beat My Rio — iOS privacy policy Effective 2 October 2026

Who operates the game Beat My Rio is operated by Shudufhadzo Nemulalate (Shudu). Contact: https://shudufhadzo.com/. This policy covers the native iOS app. The browser game has its own privacy and advertising policy.

What the app uses Your racer name, plate, chosen car, colour, circuit and difficulty are stored on your device. A randomly generated service cookie identifies returning racers; the server derives a pseudonymous identifier from it. You do not need an email address, password or social account to play. Your name and plate are visible to other players in online sessions. Choose a nickname and avoid personal information.

Online racing and leaderboards When you choose ranked racing, the app sends your driving inputs to verify the race. The service stores verified race time, position, circuit, difficulty, car, pseudonymous identity and related race data. Your racer name and best times are public on the leaderboard. Multiplayer and Sandton free drive send controls and car state so other players can see your car. Free drive does not submit race times. Leaving or backgrounding free drive releases your place.

Room chat Text chat is optional and available only to drivers in the same live room or Sandton world. Messages, your racer name and a pseudonymous sender ID are visible to those drivers, so do not share private information. Ordinary chat is held in server memory for up to five minutes, with at most thirty recent messages per room, and is cleared when a race room starts a new match. It is not a private messaging service. Blocked sender IDs stay on your device until you unblock them. Reports retain the reported message, sender name, pseudonymous sender and reporter IDs, room and timestamps for moderation; these records expire after thirty days and are deleted during the daily cleanup. Contact support to request review or removal.

Hosting and security Cloudflare and Railway host the game services. They process connection information, such as IP address and technical request logs, to deliver and protect the service. Servers may be outside South Africa. The app communicates through encrypted HTTPS and secure WebSockets. We do not request your real-world location, photos, contacts, microphone, camera or advertising identifier.

Advertising This native version does not include an advertising or cross-app tracking SDK. Scenery may contain static promotional artwork. External websites, including the browser version of Beat My Rio, have their own policies. This policy must be updated before any advertising SDK or tracking is added to the app.

Retention and your choices Local preferences remain until you reset them or remove the app. Published results remain available while the leaderboard service operates unless removed following a valid request. Race verification sessions are temporary; infrastructure logs follow the hosting providers' configured retention. Removing the app does not automatically delete public results. Contact Shudu through the support website to request access, correction or deletion; include your racer name and circuit, but never send your device cookie. We may request proportionate proof of identity to prevent deletion of someone else's results. You may also complain to South Africa's Information Regulator: https://inforegulator.org.za/complaints/.

Children Do not put a child's real name or personal information into a public racer name or plate. A parent or guardian can contact support about their child's information. The app is not offered as a child-directed service.

Changes We will update this policy when the app's data practices change. Contact support with privacy questions before using online features if anything is unclear.
